Outstanding Reader of the Year Awards 2025–26 – Celebrating a Culture of Reading

The Outstanding Reader of the Year Awards (2025–26) were presented on 6 April 2026 during the Annual Day celebrations of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Kanjikode. The awards were conferred by P N Unnikrishnan, Chairman Nominee, VMC, to students who set remarkable benchmarks in reading and active library participation.

The Outstanding Reader of the Year Award recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional engagement with the library. This honour reflects not only the volume of books read but also the depth, consistency, and quality of each student’s literary involvement.

During the academic session 2025–26, the library witnessed a significant surge in book circulation, highlighting a growing culture of reading among students. From this enthusiastic pool, 11 students were shortlisted based on their library usage and points earned. The final selection of the top three readers was made by the committee following a face-to-face interaction, ensuring a holistic evaluation of their reading habits, comprehension, and passion for books.

The winners were presented with a certificate and books worth INR 2500/-. The prizes were generously sponsored by our alumnus.
