Readers' Club Field Trip
On 27th September 2025, the Readers’ Club had the exciting opportunity to visit the library at Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, Thrissur. The Field Trip was organised under PM SHRI. 44 students, members of the Readers' Club and selected best readers, and 4 teachers participated in the field trip. The students were warmly welcomed by Dr. A.T. Francis, Chief Librarian and his team. Dr. A T Francis guided them through an interactive session and a tour of the library.
Dr. Francis gave an insightful explanation of RFID technology and demonstrated how it works at the library entrance. He also emphasized the importance of libraries, the benefits of cultivating a reading habit, and the value of science and literature. He spoke about identifying fake news and encouraged students to read critically. The students engaged enthusiastically, asking questions and actively participating in the discussion. Many students won prizes for answering questions during the interaction.

The trip was made even more special as Mrs. Rugmini Madam, TGT English, who has been an integral part of the Readers’ Club for many years and is retiring this month, joined the team. Her presence added warmth and experience to the visit, making it a memorable day for everyone.
Mr. Aman Rahman, Secretary of the Readers’ Club, delivered vote of thanks on behalf of the team for the warm hospitality and informative session.
After the library visit, the club members explored the Thrissur Zoo and Museum. In the evening, the group visited Snehatheeram Beach and Oho Beach, Thalikkulam, where they had a memorable experience by the sea.
The visit was not only educational but also fun and inspiring, leaving the students motivated to read more and explore the world of knowledge.
