Meet the Author Ms. Deepa Santhosh - National Reading Month 2023 - Library - Kendriya Vidyalaya Kanjikode

Meet the Author with the Malayalam writer Mrs. Deepa Santhosh was organised in the Durbar Hall on 1 July 2023 as part of the National Reading Month 2023 celebrations. Mrs. Deepa Santhosh is the recipient of the Kerala Bala Sahitya Academy Award 2020 and Sh. PN Panicker Award for Literature in 2020.

The programme started at 10:00 with the lighting of the lamp and prayer by the students. Mrs. Sunitha V, Headmistress welcomed the Chief Guest and all the participants. Mr. Sadanad Yadav, I/c Principal addressed the gathering and talked about the importance of reading. He urged the students to make use of the wonderful library facilities in the Vidyalaya and to take full benefit of the interaction with the author.

Mr. Mujib Rahiman announced the winners of various Library Awards for the Academic Session 2022-23. The prizes and certificates to the various Library Award winners were distributed by the Chief Guest.

After the prize distribution, Mrs. Deepa Santhosh interacted with the members of the Readers’ Club (Secondary) and Literary Club (Primary). 125 students and the teacher members of both clubs attended the programme. In her address, she narrated her experiences both as a reader and a writer. Reciting a wonderful poem on books, the chief guest discussed the benefits of reading and also shared her childhood memories of reading books and writing stories. She also patiently answered all the queries from the students. It was a completely interactive session with the students asking her questions on reading, writing and books.

Mrs. Vismaya, PRT and teacher in-charge of Literary Club anchored the programme. The event ended at 11:30 am with vote of thanks by Mrs. Rugmini Menon, TGT English.
