    Reading Day Celebration - Book Donation Drive gets an overwhelming response

    The Vidyalaya celebrated Reading Day (à´µായനാà´¦ിà´¨ം) with special programme in the morning assembly. Class VIII students presented special item introducing Shri. PN Panicker, known as the Father of Library Movement in Kerala.He was instrumental in forming Thiruvithaamkoor Granthasala Sangham which later became the State Library Council of Kerala. Kerala Government ordered that 19 June, which is the day of death of Panicker, be celebrated as Reading Day in the state acknowledging his contributions.

    Vidyalaya library is celebrating Reading Day with various activities. A Book Donation Drive is being organised from 15-30 June 2017. The campaign has received an overwhelming response from the staff and students.

    On Reading Day, Class VIII A, VIII B, VIII C and VIII D monitors handed over the books from their classes to the Principal. Ku. Medha Pradeep, VI C also donated a number of books to the Principal in the morning assembly. Many more students have deposited books in the donation box kept in the library.

    The books will be available for issue after taking into stock after the progamme is over.
