Educational Visit to Attappadi as Part of Birsa Munda’s 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations
As part of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, a group of students from our school undertook a meaningful and insightful educational visit to the Attappadi on 18 November 2025. The trip aimed to deepen their understanding of tribal life, culture, education, and heritage. The students were accompanied by Mrs. Sheeja CJ, TGT WE and Mr. Mujib Rahiman, Librarian
The journey began with visits to four important institutions in the region—Model Residential School Mukkali, GHS Chindakki, GTW LP School Chindakki, and GLPS Mulli. The students had an enriching interaction with the teachers and students of GHS Chindakki and GLPS Mulli, where they exchanged experiences and explored the unique learning environment of these schools.
As part of the outreach efforts, the students donated books to GTW LP School Chindakki and GLPS Mulli, strengthening the message of knowledge-sharing and community support. The warmth and gratitude expressed by the schools made the moment even more special.

The students also enjoyed a refreshing stop at the Narasimukku View Point, taking in the scenic beauty before heading to meet Manappa Moopan at Kavundikkal. What followed was one of the most memorable experiences of the day.
Moopan and Moopathi welcomed the students with exceptional warmth. They shared insights about tribal history, customs, and their personal experiences. The students were especially inspired by Moopan’s passion for learning—even at his age, he expressed his strong desire to continue his studies and appear for the matriculation-equivalent examination. His dedication and words on the importance of education deeply moved everyone present.
As a gesture of respect, Mr. Mujib Rahiman, Librarian felicitated Moopan by presenting a Ponnada (ceremonial shawl).
The entire programme was smoothly coordinated by Mrs. Remadevi Kollaikkal, Teacher and life coach, along with her team members Mr. Anandhu and Mr. Muhammed Aslih from Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Govt. Arts & Science College, Attapadi.
The visit was not just an educational experience but a reminder of the richness of India’s indigenous communities and the importance of empathy, cultural understanding, and continued learning.
