Signposts in Fiction: An Interactive Session with Mrs. Barbara Swander Miller
Mrs. Barbara Miller is a veteran teacher from Muncie, Indiana, United States, who has taught English Language Arts for 24 years. Her experiences range from teaching Grade 7 to college-level pre-service teachers.
It was a wonderful experience for the teachers and students. Through an interactive session, she introduced the concept of "signposts" to the participants. She demonstrated how the six signposts can be identified and effectively utilized to get a deeper understanding of the text through an activity.
The programme was organised online on Zoom.
An enriching session, which is a 'must- watch' for all the ardent readers and teachers of English. A session that helped us to understand that there should a purpose behind our reading. The passion and enthusiasm of the speaker was quite evident from the way she interacted with the participants. Looking forward to many more useful sessions like this.

ReplyDeleteAn enlightening session that gave students insights into focussed reading of fiction while enjoying. Those who had been reading fiction without knowing how to interpret and analyse have been given clear guidelines to do it systematicaly. The speaker's inteaction with the students and her willingness to clarify all doubts pertaining to it made the session a lively one. Looking forward to many more such programmes..
