CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) 2023
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by 22 National Law Universities around the country.
CLAT is organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities consisting of the representative universities.
The Consortium of National Law Universities has begun the registration process for the Common Law Admission Test ( CLAT, 2023 ). The last date to apply for CLAT 2022 is November 13, 2022, and the examination is scheduled for December 18, 2022. The CLAT 2023 examination will be held in OFFLINE mode.
Eligibility for UG
CAndidates who have passed i 10+2 or an equivalent examination with a minimum of
1. 45% of marks or equivalent grade or
2. 40% of marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination in March/April 2023 are also eligible to apply
Syllabus
The UG-CLAT 2023 shall be a 2-hour test, with 150 multiple-choice questions carrying 1 mark each. There shall be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. These questions would be divided across the following 5 subjects:
English Language
Current Affairs, including General Knowledge
Legal Reasoning
Logical Reasoning
Quantitative Techniques

UG CLAT syllabus 2023 has five sections, each section carries a fixed weightage in the examination. The details of section-wise marks distribution are given below.
