Teachers' Day Celebrations at KV Kanjikode
Teachers' Day was celebrated today with special activities and programmes. Three retired teachers from Kendriya Vidyalaya Kanjikode Mrs. Teresa Sebasitan, Mrs. Sathy Janardhanan and Mrs. Leelavathy were the chief guests of today's morning assembly.
Mrs. Teresa Sebasitan garlanded the portrait of Dr. S Radhakrishnam. The teachers took charge of the morning assembly today. Mr. Sivdas, Yoga Instructor performed few yoga demonstrations.
The three retired teachers were felicitated in the morning assembly by the students. The students also paid respect to all the teachers and other staff members of the Vidyalaya.
The members of cleaning and security staff were honoured for their selfless services in maintaining the vidyalaya secure, neat and clean.
Mrs. Teresa Sebastian, a veteran teacher, who retired from KVS as PGT English. She is a graduate in Chemistry with BEd and Post Graduation in Psychology. She joined KVS at Trichy in 1968 and joined KV Kanjikode in July 1997. She worked here till her retirement in 2005 and is now settled in Ullas Nagar Kanjikode. She is still an active social worker and continues to render her services to the society as a teacher.
Mrs. Sathy Janardhanan needs no introduction to KV Kanjikode family. After getting her BA and BEd, she joined KV Air Force Station Jamnagar in 1985. She joined KV Kanjikode in 1992 and served the Vidyalaya till 2017 March. She made remarkable contributions to the Vidylaya as HM I/c in the last few years. She is now settled in Koottupatha and enjoying a happy retired life.
Mrs. Leelavathy PP is a familiar figure to all the members of KV Kanjikode. She is a BA, BEd who served for 8 years in a Public school after which she joined KV Digaru Guwahati in 1987. She later joined KV Kanjikode and retired from KV Kanjikode in 2011. She had rendered her services as a Guide Captain to KVS. She is also the recipient of the Broad Outlook Learner Teachers (BOLT) Award instituted by Malayala Manorama. A talented teacher and choreographer, she was popularly known in our vidyalaya as the "Nightingale of KV Kanjikode".
The guests addressed the morning assembly and blessed the students. The staff and students enjoyed their words of wisdom.
