CBSE 2025: Important Update on Scanned Answer Books, Verification & Re-evaluation for Class X & XII
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a more transparent and student-friendly system for result review in 2024–25. Now, students of Class X and Class XII can request their scanned answer books, and apply for verification of marks and re-evaluation, giving them better insight and control over their results.
3-Step Process for Students of Class X & XII
1️⃣ Request Scanned Copy of Evaluated Answer Books

Students can request scanned copies of their evaluated answer books for desired subjects.

Scanned copies will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis via the student’s login account.

All examiner-related information will be anonymized for privacy.

Only online applications will be accepted during the notified schedule
2️⃣ Apply for Verification of Marks

Available only for those who applied for scanned answer books.

Students can check for:

Errors in totalling
-
Unmarked answers
-
Incorrect mark entries
-

The verification result will be uploaded to the student's account.

Note: A decrease in marks, even by one mark, will be applied and reflected in the revised mark sheet.
3️⃣ Apply for Re-evaluation

Only those who received scanned copies can challenge marks for specific theory questions.

Processing Fee: ₹100 per question.

Students must refer to the official marking scheme and question paper before submitting challenges.

Final Result after Re-evaluation is binding — no further appeal is allowed.

A decrease in marks (even by one) will be affected.

Applications and fees must be submitted only online. Offline requests or late submissions will be rejected.

Payment modes: Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking only.

Students must apply on their own — cyber cafés or third parties are not permitted to submit applications.

Only one application per stage per candidate will be accepted. Choose all subjects/questions in one go.

Processing fees are non-refundable.

In case of a change in marks, students must surrender the original mark sheet and will be issued a new one.

Requests under RTI Act 2005 can be made for a photocopy of the answer book, but verification or re-evaluation requests will not be accepted under RTI.
