    Problem Switching from a personal Gmail ID to a Google Workspace ID

    Switching from a personal Gmail ID to a Google Workspace ID on your mobile can sometimes encounter issues due to account synchronization or app settings. 
    When any error occurs, first of all read the error message displayed. 

    Here are some steps to resolve the problem:

    1. Ensure Proper Credentials
      Double-check that you're using the correct email address and password for the school's Google Workspace account.
      Most of the times the problem occurs because you are using a wrong e-mail id. Confirm the mail id with your class teacher.
      Next common problem is the forgotten password. You will not be able to reset the password yourself. So, inform your class teacher.

    2. Add Google Workspace Account:

      • Open the Gmail app on your mobile.
      • Tap on your profile picture in the top-right corner.
      • Select Add another account.
      • Choose Google and follow the instructions to sign in with your Google Workspace ID.
    3. Clear App Data and Cache (if account addition fails):

      • Go to your phone's Settings > Apps > Gmail.
      • Tap Storage > Clear Cache and Clear Data.
      • Restart the Gmail app and try adding the account again.
    4. Update Google Apps:

      • Ensure all Google apps are up-to-date from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).
    5. Check Account Restrictions:

      • Confirm with your school admin if there are any restrictions or specific configurations needed for accessing the Google Workspace account.
    6. Use a Browser for Initial Access:

      • If the Gmail app doesn’t work, open a browser on your mobile.
      • Go to mail.google.com and log in using your Google Workspace ID to verify account access.
    7. Sync Google Account Settings:

      • Go to Settings > Accounts > Google > Select your Google Workspace ID.
      • Ensure sync is enabled for Gmail and other required services.
    8. Remove and Re-add Your Personal Account (If Conflicts Arise):

      • Temporarily remove your personal Gmail account to see if the issue resolves.
      • After successfully adding the Workspace ID, re-add your personal account.
